The Metal Gear series is officially dead. I don't know what to say, I just wanna cry, I mean it. There's no enemies variations, the AI is dumb as hell, the crafting is boring, and when the main character is hungry, you need to consume at least 5 goats. I bet there was no mocap for this game and the very few cutscenes the game have where animated digitally only.

The game is mediocre when it comes to cutscenes, they made some kind of messenger dialog with cheesy voice acting to replace the well crafted cutscenes that is actually part of the Metal Gear series. The main character is referred as Captain, and the only thing he says during the whole game is scream for big boss when they are being sucked by the wormhole, no voice lines apart from that. The single player mode is soulless and requires constant internet connection. This is definitely a different experience, thanks to the introduction of survival mechanics and the extensive base building, but these aspects actually benefit what the title is going for. The game feels like an extension of MGO3. Metal Gear Survive is not what many envisioned the follow up to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain to be, but that doesn’t inherently make it a bad game. Everything was reused from MGSV, soundtrack, animations, voice acting, they even reused Quiet's face on Miranda.
